Hongjin Yu has a wide range of interests. He studied Robotics at Carnegie Mellon University. He then gravitated toward Game Design and Graduated from The Guildhall at Southern Methodist University with honors for his thesis “Convolutional Kernel Optimization for Deep Neural Networks using Constructivist Augmented Machine Learning (CAML) Methodology”
He is now looking forward to pursuing a Ph.D. in the field of Machine Learning. His research focuses on understanding how and why artificial neural networks work. By opening the black box of Machine Learning, he aims to build better networks that are more accurate, train faster and with less data, and less susceptible to bias and adversarial attacks.
